A New Way To File 1099s Using the IRS

The IRS will retire the FIRE e-file system starting with tax year 2026, including all prior filings/corrections. Dealers are now required to use the IRIS format with a valid TCC, and corrections must be made by selecting the original tax year and updating amounts.
Benefits
Dealers will remain compliant with IRS 1099 tax reporting requirements through the IRIS system, enabling a more modern, standardized e-filing process that improves accuracy and reduces errors.
