Don’t Get Phished
Many people think of being hacked as something out of their control or something that passively happens to them, not something they allow to happen. The reality is we often do things that open the door to criminals. Think of it as the cyber version of leaving your door unlocked or your keys in your car. Would you fail to buckle your seatbelt because your car has a collision avoidance system? Similarly, you can’t rely on just one layer of cyberdefense, like a firewall or proxy or email filtering, to completely protect you. Remembering your role in protecting your dealership is the first key. So familiarize yourself with how to recognize phishing and malicious websites, and train your family and employees too.
