There’s an old axiom in business that goes something like this: It’s not easy to get to the top.But once you’re there, it’s even more challenging to stay on top. To put it succinctly, the best never rest. That’s certainly true of Kocourek Automotive.
Kocourek Automotive, based in Wausau, Wisconsin, has been honored many times since opening in 1999. The business was named the Wisconsin Automobile & Truck Dealers Association’s 2017 Dealer of the Year and TIME Magazine’s 2017 Regional Dealer of Year. The nine stores under the Kocourek umbrella have also earned Top 100 Dealer to Work For honors from manufacturers such as Nissan and Kia.
Given this obvious commitment to excellence, it’s no surprise that Kocourek prioritizes having leading web technology that both presents the best of the business to consumers and makes their staff more efficient and effective. Around the turn of the 2017-18 new year, Kocourek made the strategic move to contract with CDK Global for a new, more user-friendly website for its Nissan store, fully supported by CDK ProCare customer support services.

Kim Zouski, Kocourek’s digital marketing assistant, was impressed by the support she received from her CDK Account Advocate while getting up to speed on the new solution’s features and functionality. “When I first came on board, he took time to explain what needs to be done to manage the site,” she said. “Working with him was great. All our questions were answered very quickly. He set up training and keeps me in the loop on all enhancements. I felt very comfortable using the platform after receiving his guidance and support.”

Zouski especially enjoys the new solution’s userfriendly features that allow her to make changes and perform updates to the website. “My favorite feature is the Slide Studio.” The technology “absolutely saves me time,” she says. “It is so quick to upload the picture, put in the link and it’s on our site. It is just that easy. We also enjoy the cards feature where we can create and change each card individually.”

The new website has also given Kocourek Nissan much more robust capabilities for delivering web content on mobile devices. “Marking items as intent or non-intent allows us to target and customize each user’s shopping experience,” Zouski explains. This is vital, given the fact that U.S. consumers spend nearly three times as many digital minutes on mobile devices than on desktop computers, according to recent comScore research.

Since implementing the new CDK solution, the business has seen improvements in every key metric. Page views and visits have increased 25 percent. “We’ve also received great responses from customers about the new site,” Zouski adds.

Overall, the new platform “lets my brand stand out and enables me to tell the brand story,” Zouski explains. “Our site is no longer cookie-cutter. We stand out from the rest and are able to merge our OEM brand perfectly with our Kocourek brand.” And for a business at the top of its game, that’s a critical strategy for staying there.
