Business can no longer live on one connection alone.

Bandwidth-hungry connections need to be fed. Are you giving your network enough?

Continual access to a fast and reliable internet connection has gone from a nice to have to a must-have for dealerships. This need is a foundation for the success of a business. And, I think we can all agree that your business is too important to leave to trusting a spotty connection. You can’t just hope for the best. You have to be on the lookout for a solution that will provide fast and reliable capabilities with plenty of fail-safes built in.

Network variety is the spice of life

We all know what happens when we put all our eggs in one basket. When the worst happens, they all get broken. And we know the worst will happen. On average, regional internet outages occur every 10-12 weeks. Because of that fear, more businesses in our industry are moving toward multiple connections with different ISPs in order to share the connection load and serve as a backup in case one has issues or even fails.

Any provider you’re thinking of working with should be able to give you a variety of solutions and protections. Today, that means multiple ISPs – and it means having a partner with the knowledge and expertise to show up before you or your customers know you’re experiencing an issue. All the ISPs in the world won’t make a difference if you don’t have the time and expertise to monitor your network and switch traffic to a solid connection when problems arise – so make sure you’re working with someone who knows how to handle that complexity.

There’s no such thing as having too much of a good thing

But rather than just getting multiple ISPs and calling it a day, wouldn’t it be better if you could also see what was going on inside each of your connections? Monitoring usage will help you understand where your traffic is coming from, where it’s going and the effect it’s having across your network. This will help you know what’s important before you’re faced with losing it during an outage.

Does my internet connection really need improvement?

If it’s important that you, your staff and your customers stay connected to your network at all times, then yes, it does. It’s something that requires constant improvement. That’s why you need a solution that delivers fast, reliable capabilities when one of your ISP circuits inevitably goes down.

We recommend checking out a wide-variety of offerings, including one of our own: CDK Cloud Connect. It provides all the above, plus immediate slow-down detection and correction, and constant monitoring from a team of IT experts with years of experience.

So what are you waiting for? Your dealership deserves a network that keeps you and your customers connected when you need it the most.
