CDK Global attracts some of the world’s biggest brands to CDK Connect in Dubai

Dubai, UAE– 22nd October 2019 Recently, CDK Global successfully concluded the 2nd edition of its annual CDK Connect event in Dubai, which is dedicated to automotive dealers and OEMs in the Middle East. The event, attended by 80 delegates, shed light on how to navigate changes to the car buying experience across the region with an examination by expert speakers into upcoming automotive trends, women in automotive and how the fourth industrial revolution will change the world. CDK Connect 2019 attracted several big-name brands, such as Facebook, LinkedIn, YallaMotor, Bright Box, IBM and Frost & Sullivan.

Building on the reputation CDK Global has for providing the latest insights and practices in today’s fast paced, ever innovating automotive industry, speakers from IBM and Frost & Sullivan provided insight into the future of mobility and predictions for automotive in 2030.

Frost and Sullivan’s Subhash Joshi, Director & Business Head of Mobility, examined the digital transformation of the automotive retail industry. He spoke about how the future of automotive retailing is moving from a transactional model towards an experience-based approach, discussing the importance of technological innovation and wider retail, and consumer buying trends.

He said: “In nutshell, digital is transforming supply chain, manufacturing, connected products, retail and mobility services, which means today’s, enterprises need to incorporate digital into their very DNA and transform their processes and KPI’s accordingly. Digital has become a key business enabler – it accelerates data analytics, creates new revenue models but most of all allows for personalisation of the user experience and relevance of services."

Ian Fletcher, Director of Business Value at IBM, showcased how the world is racing toward a digital future thanks to the Fourth Industrial Revolution. There will be a fusion of physical, digital and biological worlds, and with a combination of economical megatrends and game changing technologies, the resulting 2030 automotive industry will look drastically different.

Ian said: “As we enter the Fourth Industrial Revolution, we may come to the stark realisation that nothing will ever remain the same. In just a few years, we will be living in a completely interconnected world, where many decisions will either be influenced or made for us through Artificial Intelligence (AI) linked to smart devices to produce data driven insights. This will transform the transportation world and deliver new valued experiences changing the way we live.  As a result we must accept that we as humans will be fully connected to and integrated with future technology, developing an interdependency and reliance on its outcomes.”

Joe Brahamcha, Account Director of Financial, Auto and Luxury at LinkedIn, detailed how businesses can harness social platforms to not only connect with potential car buyers in a more meaningful way, but also use rich data to inform customer purchasing trends.

He said: “It was a pleasure to participate in CDK Connect 2019 alongside other automotive and technology experts. The automotive industry has started its biggest transformation: technological changes, changing customer preference and new non-traditional automotive players have entered the space creating challenges for traditional players but at the same time exciting opportunities across the value chain.”

Other speakers included Eleni Kitra from Facebook and Roman Krasnov from Bright Box.
