Leadership at CDK Global


Brian MacDonald, Chief Executive Officer

Brian serves as the CEO of CDK Global. Prior to joining CDK, Brian served as Chief Executive Officer and President of Hertz Equipment Rental Corporation from June 2014 through June 2015 and as interim Chief Executive Officer of Hertz Corporation from September 2014 through November 2014. Prior to Hertz, Brian served as President and Chief Executive Officer of ETP Holdco Corp., an entity formed following Energy Transfer Partners' $5.3 billion acquisition of Sunoco, Inc. in 2012, where Brian had served as Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer prior to ETP's acquisition of Sunoco. Brian joined Sunoco in 2009 as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. During his tenure with Sunoco, the company undertook a substantial restructuring to strengthen and transform the organization and better position it for growth. Sunoco exited unprofitable operations, significantly reduced costs, improved efficiencies, and refocused on established high-return businesses.

Prior to Sunoco, Brian worked at Dell, Inc. as Chief Financial Officer of the Large Enterprise Business Unit, overseeing all aspects of its financial management. Before becoming the unit's Chief Financial Officer in 2008, he served as Dell's Corporate Vice President and Treasurer. In this role, Brian led Dell's mergers and acquisitions organization and headed the company's global treasury group, with operations in the United States, Ireland and Singapore.

Prior to Dell, Brian spent more than 13 years in several financial management roles at General Motors Corporation, including at Isuzu Motors Limited, a $12 billion Japanese public company that was 49 percent owned by General Motors at the time, and as Treasurer of GM Canada, a $28 billion operating subsidiary.

Brian currently serves on the board of directors of Computer Sciences Corporation. He previously served on the board of directors of Sunoco and Sunoco Logistics from March 2012 to October 2012 and October 2009 to October 2012, respectively, and on the board of directors of Ally Financial, Inc. from May 2013 to July 2014, following his appointment by the U.S. Department of the Treasury. He earned a Bachelor of Science from Mount Allison University and received a Master of Business Administration from McGill University.

Rajiv Amar, Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer

Rajiv serves as CDK Global’s Chief Technology Officer. He joined CDK in July, 2014 as Divisional Vice President, Development leading the Core Platform product suite. As CTO, he leads the development of engineering platforms, strategies and solutions, across the Americas’, International and India.

With 25+ years of experience in the technology and engineering space, Rajiv joined CDK from Sage Software Inc., where he held the Sr. Director, R&D position, having global responsibility for the Real Estate & Construction product suite generating ~$90M in revenue with Sage Software by spearheading the design, development and management of the entire product suite. He also led the creation of Innovated NA Sage Cloud & Mobility, a next-generation hybrid cloud solution enabling mobile sales and service.

"Rajiv servces as CDK Global's Chief Technology Officer. He joined CDK in July, 2014 as Divisional Vice President, Development leading the Core Platform product suite."

Prior to that, Rajiv was with Serena Software Inc. as Director, Product Development & Engineering Services where he built-out Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) solutions enabling organizations to develop and release quality products while implement best practices. While with Serena, he developed an innovative Dashboard and Business Intelligence solution for Serena’s customers that enabled them to create evidence base results.

Rajiv has also held leadership roles at Inuit, Inc. and Hewlett Packard, where he spent 10+ years, starting as a Deployment Manager and ending as a Director, Product Development. Rajiv holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from California State University.

Lee Brunz, Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Counsel

Lee acts as General Counsel for CDK Global, after previously serving as Vice President & Counsel for the Digital Marketing business of ADP Dealer Services, Inc. Previously, Lee served as Vice President, Finance & General Counsel for Cobalt Holding Company until its acquisition by Dealer Services in 2010.

Lee holds an LLM in Tax from New York University School of Law, a JD from the University of Oregon School of Law and a BA in English from Whitman College. Outside of work, Lee enjoys traveling with his family, fishing, hiking and generally exploring the outdoors. In addition, Lee is an avid cyclist and an enthusiastic cyclocross racer.

Dean W. Crutchfield, EVP & Chief Information Officer

Dean has overall global responsibility for the development of new internal applications, infrastructure hosting, IT systems and services and enterprise-wide data stewardship.

Dean serves as CDK's Chief Information Officer.

Before joining CDK he was the Chief Information Officer at Zebra Technologies. Prior to Zebra, he had global IT responsibility for Dell’s Supply Chain Network, Product Development and was a Services P&L leader. Prior to Dell, Dean held positions in global and regional IT at British Petroleum.

Dean received a Business Administration Bachelor’s degree from Central Michigan University.

Neil Packham, President, CDK International

Neil serves as President, CDK International, responsible for our organisation outside of US and Canada having been promoted into this role in January 2017. Neil joined CDK in July 2013 as Vice President for the UK Region, which encompasses UK, Middle East, Ireland and Africa. He is also a member of the CDK Corporate Responsibility Council.

Prior to joining CDK Neil has enjoyed a career in the automotive, digital and software sectors working in a variety of business areas such as business development and strategy, sales and marketing, product development, sales and general management.

He has held senior positions within a number of large corporations and start-ups.

Dan Flynn, Executive Vice President, Business Transformation

Dan serves as the Corporate Vice President of Business Transformation of CDK Global.

Prior to joining CDK, Dan served as the Senior Vice President, North America Rent A Car Operations at Hertz from August 2014 through January 2016. Dan previously served as Regional Vice President, Southeast Region and Separation Management Office, for Hertz Equipment Rental Corporation. Dan had extensive process and operational management responsibilities at Hertz, and led company-wide, Lean Six Sigma-based process improvement initiatives from 2007 through 2012 as Vice President, Global Program Management Office (2011 - 2012), Vice President, Operations Administration - North America Rent A Car (2010), Vice President, Global Program Management (2008 - 2010), and Senior Director, U.S. Rent A Car Improvement Process (2007 - 2008)

Dan serves as the Corporate Vice President of Business Transformation of CDK Global. Prior to joining CDK, Dan served as the Senior Vice President, North America Rent A Car Operations at Hertz from August 2014 through January 2016.

From 1993 to 2007, Dan served in several operations management positions at Hertz, including General Manager of New York East and Area Manager of LGA and JFK airports. Dan earned a Bachelor’s degree from Western Connecticut State University and has attained his Six Sigma Green Belt certification.

Tony Graham, Vice President and Chief Customer Experience Officer

As Chief Customer Experience Officer, Tony is responsible for strengthening the connection between CDK Global and our customers. Tony acts as the voice of the customer across Automotive Retail North America and Digital Marketing. In addition to this role, he also serves as Vice President, Regional General Manager Central Region, DASH and Minority Dealer Business.

During his tenure with CDK Global, Tony has held positions in product marketing, sales, business development and field operations. He is actively involved in our CDK Diversity and Inclusion Strategy and was a key driver in the creation of the Minority Dealer Business. Tony is also a member of the CDK Corporate Responsibility Council.

As Chief Customer Experience Officer, Tony is responsible for strengthening the connection between CDK Global and our customers. Tony acts as the voice of the customer across Automotive Retail North America and Digital Marketing.

Tony earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems at Alabama State University and a Master of Business Administration from Central Michigan University.

He is actively involved in the community and provides leadership and support to many local organizations. He is a member of the Trustee Board for the Christian Tabernacle Church and Alabama State University Dean’s Advisory Board.

Robert N. Karp, President, CDK North America

Bob oversees the North American arm of Automotive Retail for CDK Global. He previously held the position of Senior Vice President, North America Operations and Sales, with ADP Dealer Services. Bob has held a variety of roles within the company since joining in 1994, including Senior Vice President, eCommerce, Senior Vice President, North America Operations, Vice President, Strategic Accounts, Vice President, Alliance Segment, and Vice President, Client Relations. Prior to joining ADP Dealer Services, Bob held various general management and operations roles with IBM and PRC Corporation.

Bob oversees the North American arm of Automotive Retail for CDK Global. He previously held the position of Senior Vice President, North America Operations and Sales, with ADP Dealer Services.

Bob received his Bachelor’s degree from Penn State University, and his Masters’ from American University. Outside of work, Bob enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters traveling the world.

Scott Mathews, Executive Vice President, North America Sales

Scott brings more than 30 years of management and technology experience to his role as CDK Global’s Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Prior to this role, he served as President of the Digital Marketing group. Scott joined CDK in 2010 with the Cobalt acquisition, where he spent eight years as their Chief Operating Officer.

Before joining Cobalt, Scott served for three years as President and Chief Operating Officer of Emerge Interactive, Inc., a company that specializes in internet and web-based applications for the food production industry. He spent three years as the Vice President and General Manager of Key Technology, Inc., an international equipment manufacturer and distributor. Prior to that, Scott spent 14 years at General Electric Medical Systems in a variety of sales, marketing and general management positions.

Scott brings more than 30 years of management and technology experience to his role as CDK Global's Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Prior to this role, he served as President of the Digital Marketing group

Scott received his bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University, and his MBA from the University of Chicago. He and his wife, Ashley, are actively involved with Treehouse, a nonprofit organization serving Seattle youth in foster care. He is an avid motorcyclist, often riding to work via bike. Scott, Ashley and their Dobermans, Felix and Grace, all live in the Seattle area.

Ron Frey, Chief Strategy Officer

Ron Frey serves as CDK's Global Chief Strategy Officer. He joined CDK in 2017 and has responsibility for corporate strategy, business development, and product management.

Frey is an automotive innovator, beginning his career in the automotive industry in 1985 when he identified a niche market founding a full service auto-buying service that grew into one of the nation's leading credit union auto-buying programs before selling to TrueCar in 2005 when he joined TrueCar as their COO/Partner. In 2007, Frey took on the role as president of AutoNation Direct.

Ron Frey serves as CDK's Global Chief Strategy Officer. He joined CDK in 2017 and has responsibility for corporate strategy, business development, and product management.

During his tenure he focused on developing and testing bold new initiatives in transactional sales outside the traditional store environment and was later promoted to chief strategy officer of AutoNation, Inc. His efforts ultimately led to AutoNation Express, the parent company's fresh, industry-leading approach to digital sales connecting the digital experience to in-store operations that was launched in 2015. More recently, Frey has been providing consulting services to the automotive industry through his company, RL Frey.
